Greeters: Saint-Gilles has a story to tell

Saturday 6 May
12:30 - 16:00

Either you’ve never heard of the “Greeters” or, on the contrary, you’ve used them before when you go on a holiday. The perfect opportunity presents itself to you!

As part of the Fête de l’Iris, the Brussels Greeters welcome you to Saint-Gilles, a multi-cultural municipality where the works of Victor Horta and Bonom meet.

The Brussels Greeters are Brussels locals who are passionate about their hometown and who love to share their favourite spots, top tips and anecdotes. Throughout the year they offer you the chance to go off the beaten track for a couple of hours and discover another Brussels.

For this special weekend celebrating the Brussels-Capital Region, we offer you an afternoon of discovery:

12:30 pm to 1:40 pm: Expolaroïd exhibition

Come and discover the Expolaroïd exhibition being held in the prestigious setting of the Maison Pelgrims, a listed mansion. The discovery will take place in the company of artist Tania Viteri Saenz. You will be treated to a little drink to give you the extra strength you’ll need for the rest of your busy discovery programme.

1:40 pm to 2 pm: storytelling

Are you looking to feel inspired and travel from within? Then why not attend our storytelling session. The idea: Greeters present share with you their anecdotes and experiences. After the storytelling session, we guarantee you’ll want to meet up with Greeters every time you travel!

2 pm to 4 pm: a stroll through Saint-Gilles

To round off the afternoon in style, you will set off with a Greeter to explore Saint-Gilles in small groups of no more than 6 people.
